It’s a very balanced pimple rubber, you can almost do everything from chopping away from the table, chop block near the table and even attack occasionally depending on the thickness of the sponge and to your style this pips will satisfy your needs.

The 0.5mm and 1mm sponges are equally good. I would slightly favour the 1mm since the attacking component will have more of a durability impact and the 1mm offers more cushioning to limit the pips from breaking.

The defense side is not nearly as effective as an OX would be but this is known upfront due to the attacking component it offers. The blocks can be passive which do limit the rubber to some degree but the active cou ter drives are absolutely deadly. The speed that can be generated combined with the dead knucle ball places the opponent at a great disadvantage. You as the pips player are then taking over the number 1 role which seems counter intuitive but it works.

Much more devastating on the backhand due to the ability in utilizing the wrists to play an almost live/ inverted rubber stroke. The forehand less effective as compared to the backhand but it can attack similar to a short pips stroke.

All in all, this is see as a game changer in executing a fast knuckle ball which is extremely unpleasant for the opponent. There is almost no need to pivot due to the effectiveness and speed that allows one to win the point outright.

I've used long pimples since college. Coach had me do it. For the longest time I don't like it - even though I can use it decently. I recently just tried to buy a quality type of pimples - since i've only used the extremely cheap pimples. And the difference is huge. I could control the ball a lot more and there was no "sliding on glass" unpredictable feeling when the ball contacts the pimples.

My only regret is not buying quality pimples earlier. This is probably the best one I've used and would be using for the rest of my hobby.

I used to play OX long-pips...But I have recently tried to play long-pips with a 0.5 mm sponge... It seems to me the Victas Curl P1V with 0.5 mm is the best one among other long-pips with 0.5 mm sponges. Shortly I might try the OX Victas Curl P1V.
