Double Fish
Double fish produces equipment and sportswear for table tennis, badminton, football, basketball, and volleyball. In the table tennis world, Double Fish is best known for producing ITTF-approved tables, nets, and balls, but it also offers a selection of blades, rubbers, and other table tennis-related equipment. The origins of Double Fish date back to the early 1950s when several small private businesses formed the Yongjian Sports Equipment Co., Ltd cooperative in the Yuexiu District of Guangzhou, China. Following significant restructuring, the company moved to Guangzhou’s Haizhu District in 1968, changed its name to Guangzhou Sports Equipment Co., Ltd, and began large-scale industrial production. After further reorganizations and name ... changes in the 1970s, the company became the Guangzhou Dongfang Sports Equipment Factory in 1978. In the 1980s, significant resources were poured into the Dongfang factory, leading to significant technological transformations, the acquisition of advanced mechanical equipment and testing instruments, and the establishment of automatic production lines. The modern iteration of Double Fish emerged in 1998 when the Dongfang company merged with several other local companies to become the Guangzhou Double Fish Sporting Goods Group Co., Ltd. Double Fish became the official table supplier for the 43rd World Table Tennis Championships held in Tianjin, China. Since then, Double Fish has provided equipment for many international competitions, including the 2003-2016 ITTF Tour Grand Finals, 2019 and 2020 World Team Table Tennis Championships, 2021-2024 WTT Events, the 2022 and 2023 World Table Tennis Championships. Of particular note, Double Fish is known for their high-quality balls and produces the official ball for the 2024 Paris Olympics Games.
